take away was terrible. inedible. I called and the manager was not "available." at 7:30? "call back later."
Great
The food is amazing, the service is usually ok but the last time I went it was terrible , I went with a party of 4 and a baby. When they sat us they gave us a table of four and put the high chair on one of the corners. It wasn't like they were busy because they had 2 tables of 6 ready for people, but since we were a party of 4 they didn't want to give us a bigger table because possibly another party of six could possibly come. Even after we insisted the owner said the small table or nothing we left and she just said ok instead of giving us the table. My family will definitely never go there again.
Great, "typical old-time" Chinese restaurant atmosphere. Be friendly with the caring staff -- they are very friendly back. Delicious food !
Me & my wife tried for the first time (Jul 10, 2017)We tried Korean stylized noodle & dish. Every one has different taste but the food was ok in general. But you'd better expect appetizer size main dish.
Food is delicious .Service is excellent.
All in all a good 'old school' Chinese restaurant. Nothing adventurous, just straightforward Chinese food well prepared in a classic environment. Portions are generous, and if you are ordering a dish like General Tso's Chicken you can ask for it to be very spicy and they can do that. They do best with the classics such as General Tso's shrimp in lobster sauce, hot braised chicken, etc. Their fried apple and banana dessert is superb, and innovative. You need to order it during your entree selection due to the time it takes to make.
Quick lunch. Plate size good for price and comes with good soup. Quirky place....often not at all crowded but food is consistently good and service is usually good too.
We hadn't been there for many years and the food was great. They were also quite accommodating in keeping things gluten free.
I don't come to St Louis without stopping here. Sauteed sesame chicken is the BEST!!
Excellent Korean Chinese dishes, such as 짬뽕, 짜장, 탕수육. Best in St. Louis.
Fast service
Very overwhelming and confusing to order. Three servers came up to us to take our order although we had already placed an order. The egg drop soup tasted like a bowl of melted butter. The food isn't fantastic, only sub par. The food and service is not worth the money. I recommend going somewhere else to eat. There are better places that are cheaper.
Kung Pao Shrimp is definitely the best food I've ever eaten. Also the eggrolls are 10/10
This used to be a favorite of our family but no more! Who staffs a Chinese restaurant with about 4 people on Christmas? The owner was extremely rude and could not care about the customer service that is offered at her restaurant. We had a 6 o’clock reservation and didn’t get a waiter until 6:45. We tried to give the whole order to save time and the waiter couldn’t handle that and only took the appetizer order. Those came out one at a time and some forgotten. We had to ask for a waiter at least 7 times to get the rest of the order, tea, more place settings, etc. Finally, placed our order for dinner and that came 1 at a time for 4 entrees(1 forgotten). To finish the meal at 8 o’clock! At the end we tried to talk to the manager about the experience and she told us to not come back, not I’m sorry, what can we do for you. Who does that? It is sad because their food is good but not that good to withstand incompetence and rudeness!
The food doesn't taste fresh and the staff are not helpful when ordering food. My dish never comes up correct.
My combination plate was a disaster Dont order hot the hot & spicy chicken it wasn't palatable at all..wasted my$$!!
We like to eat here. There is a favorite dish for each of us in the family. We like to order vegetarian moo shu and they assemble at our table. Sweet and sour fish is good as well. The servers we have had are so friendly and engaging, even teaching the kids a few words and symbols in Chinese.
Run of the mill Chinese with all the expected menu items. Pretty nice interior. A little hard to find, tucked away on the first floor of the Brentmoor Retirement community.
We've been eating at Guo Bin for years. As of 8/2015 it's not good food anymore. Crispy Beef was 80% breading, the meat was questionable and the broccoli was old. They even charge extra for brown rice. The Lady owner doesn't care anymore. She is burnt- out. PF Chang's is light years better.
Great Restaurant with Friendly ServersNoah is an excellent server, and host. He takes time to know you and what you like. He knows my order before I sit down. The food is served quickly, and is delicious.
This place is EXCEPTIONAL !!! I drive across town to eat here, passing other Chinese restaurants. The waiter is very personable and fun. I highly recommend the Guo Bin Shrimp and the Pu Pu Platter for two. Excellent place for a date, or birthday.
I don't know why there are all these negative reviews. I got takeout and it was great. I waited maybe 10-15 minutes for my food, and it was hot, fresh, and very most importantly, delicious. The hostess was extremely nice, and greeted many repeat customers by name. I would definitely return, the food was better than any chinese restaurant I've been to in the area.
I asked for a Coke refill and was told it costs another $2. What a rip off. I am NEVER going back
Was a large group and experienced wonderful food and service. I would highly recommend.
Love this place. My go to for Chinese food.
All the workers seem nice, except for that owner lady was very rude...
I got there just as they were closing for the midday break (2:00 pm). Even though the restaurant was technically closed at that point they were willing to prepare food for me to go. I had Kung Pao Shrimp and egg rolls. Both were very good. I will definitely come back - but next time during their normal open hours.
Ordered shrimp with lobster sauce combo lunch. It came with fried rice, crab rangoon, fried wonton, and a choice of egg drop soup or hot & sour. I opted for the egg drop and enjoyed it. The lobster sauce definitely carried enough garlic to keep me garlicked a good part of the afternoon. It was an altogether pleasant experience, high quality of food, and great ambience. I was surprised to see no buffet, but not disappointed. I rank the food here as two cuts above the average Chinese place I have come across.
Idk
We ordered 5 entrees and when we got home, there was only 4. We called to tell them and she insisted we didn't order the one missing. They gave one small box of rice for 4 entrees and the chicken was the quality you would get on a buffet for $52. Lowest quality we've ever had in STL. It must've changed ownership because just a couple months before, that same spot had the best quality and largest portions we've ever found in STL!
The quality of the food is going down
Great pork egg foo young
Amazing food, great service. Solid choice for Chinese Food and a local favorite.
Food is good at times. Service is usually not good. Last few times I couldn't understand the server as well as she acted like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Tea was horrible and no option or other flavors. Owner seems not happy at times. Make sure you check your bag for take out. You'll thank me later.
